The standards for education and training related to the board certifications that are administered by the Academy under the authority of AFMA meet or exceed the requirements for other organizations. Board certified members are required to re-certify every five years in order for board certification to be considered current and valid. Documentation of continuing medical education and ongoing skills training must be presented with application for recertification.
