Members of the media can request a complimentary press pass (badge) using press registration to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgeons (AANOS). The press pass will also be valid for the Annual Surgical Update of the International College of Surgeons-United States Section (ICSUS), which is held in conjunction with the AANOS conference.  To qualify for a press pass, you must submit your credentials and be approved by the ICSUS/AANOS Office of the Executive Director.

How do I register?

To register for a complimentary press badge, send an e-mail toinfo@aanos.org | Press Registration and include the following information:

  • Name, title, publication, telephone number, e-mail address
  • Attach one form of press credentials (see list below)
  • Specify which session(s) you would like to attend
  • List topics/subjects that you are interested in covering as it relates to the specific session(s)

What are the credential requirements for editorial press registration?

One of the following:

  • Masthead from a current issue of an industry-related publication listing you as an editorial contributor
  • An industry-related article published with the past six months with your byline
  • A letter from the news director or assignment editor on station/network letterhead saying that you have been assigned to represent the organization in an editorial capacity at the ICSUS / AANOS conference
  • Press photo ID
  • Business card from your media outlet reflecting your editorial role

Online publications: Must be a previously established, independent site that is regularly updated with original and current broadcast or media-related news. Personal blogs, forums, and user groups will not be considered for media registration.

Can press register on site?

No, you must pre-register at least 14 days in advance of the event to receive a press badge.

When will I receive my press badge?

Once registered, you will receive an e-mail from an ICSUS staff member confirming that you have been approved to receive an official press badge. The e-mail will also include detailed instructions on where you will need to go to pick up your at the meeting. Badges will not be mailed. Please allow 3–5 business days before following up.

Press Terms and Conditions
There will be NO onsite press registration. Requests for credentials and verification materials must be submitted at least 14 days in advance for consideration.   Based on space availability, the ICSUS & AANOS reserve the right to limit the total number of press badges issued as well as the total number of passes issued to any single news organization.

A press badge is good for entry to all of the ICSUS & AANOS educational events. The press badge does not allow for entry into the Exhibit Hall or food functions. A press pass does not guarantee seating. A limited number of seats may be reserved specifically for the media. Please keep in mind that press registration is a courtesy and your press badge is non-transferable. You may not transfer or sell your press badge. A press badge does not allow for plus ones or guests.

Members of the press that want to videotape, film, and/or record any part of the ICSUS & AANOS event that will be used for commercial purposes (non-news) must first obtain written permission from ICSUS & AANOS as well as permission of each individual participant that is included in the recorded content. Please contact the office of the ICSUS/AANOS Executive Director to request the appropriate consents along with detailed information regarding your interest in recording during the conference.

As always, the issuance of a press badge is at the sole discretion of ICSUS & AANOS. Press is expected to be respectful to all attendees. A press badge is provided as a courtesy to cover the event. ICSUS & AANOS do not tolerate coverage that includes ambush interviewing or any action that could make our attendees feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
